Installed Couchbase Server 2.2.0 … and now can’t login to web admin console.
How can the password be reset without re-install?

That thread gives instructions for:
a) How to CHANGE the password with command line tool. This requires you know the existing password.
b) How find the password in config.dat … which used to be plain text but is not in v2.2.
So … it doesn’t help with this question.
