What does N1QL stand for?
N1QL (pronounced “nickel”) is a query language for data in the Non 1 Normal Form, able to retrieve and manipulate data stored in Couchbase. Currently the data format supported is JSON.
The Couchbase Query Engine currently in Developer Preview is an implementation of N1QL and can be run either independent of Couchbase Server or on data stored in Couchbase Server.
