Periodically, we are seeing the beam.smp process core-ing on our systems (RHEL 5.7, 24 core, 32 GB RAM). The partition where the core files are being placed is not large enough and the core files are truncated. Are there any known reasons that could cause the beam.smp process to core? What size could the core files reach?
