I am looking at our box running Couchbase server, and there is something that makes the load avg spike exactly every 1 hr 45 mins.
Looking at our monit load average graphs, we can see load avg normally floats around 0.25-0.50, and every 105 minutes on the mark, it spikes to 0.75-1.0. For example: 07:30, 09:15, 11:00, 12:45, 14:30, etc.
We don’t have heavy load on our servers so this is normally still ok, but when we start getting more traffic this can be problematic. We had a coincidence one time where we happen to be rsyncing files to the web server exactly at this point, and the combined load with this operation caused the web server to go down for a few seconds.
Does anyone know what is being run at those points?
