The “control connection” closed looks suspiciously like the memcached process is crashing. The process name is a little deceiving, as in Couchbase, the memcached binary loads all of the buckets, even the Couchbase type buckets.
Do you have a core file hanging around there? Or does the babysitter log (see the docs for log directories) show restarting of a process?
