Trouble getting hadoop connector to work

I am trying to dump couchbase to hdfs using the sqoop plugin, and I am stuck with an error that says “Max block location exceeded for split”.
Here is the full output:

Can you give some detail information about the release and distribution of Hadoop, Sqoop and Couchbase connector you are using? Which operating system ? etc etc…

I am using the Cloudera Quickstart VMs ( http://www.cloudera.com/content/cloudera-content/cloudera-docs/DemoVMs/Cloudera-QuickStart-VM/cloudera_quickstart_vm.html ) with the Sqoop installation that is part of this distribution with no issue.

Hi Tug.

cdh4.1.2.p0.27.el6.x86_64
sqoop-1.4.1+54-1.cdh4.1.2.p0.21.el6
couchbase-hadoop-plugin-1.1-dp3
jdk1.7.0_17

My OS is relatively ancient… FC12

Anything I missed?

Ethan

What format is your data? The hadoop connector expects everything to be in the hadoop Text format. You may need to run a M-R internal to get the data in the format the connector expects. There are some other options in sqoop itself, like generating the java sources and then editing from there.
