I have worked at Couchbase since the beginning of 2015. My goal is to improve Couchbase's administrative and query tools to make them more consumable and usable by developers and operators.

I have a varied background, having done social media analytics research, created UIs for object-oriented databases, data mining and visualization software, online marketing management tools, and Storage Area Network management tools. I've also performed ethnographic field studies of IT sysadmins to better understand their tools, work practices, and pain points. With my colleagues at IBM we wrote the definitive book on the tough issues in IT management: "Taming Information Technology." I believe that as IT systems grow ever larger and more complex, improved usability and tooling are the keys to keeping those systems running well.
